A Ficus Elastica at 140 cm on three trunks. The rubber plant’s appeal is the leaf: thick, glossy and deep green, large enough to catch light and hold it. Three stems give the piece a natural spread instead of a single vertical line.

At this height it fits beside a sofa, a bed or a reception counter without needing a full corner. The live species sulks in cold draughts and drops its lower leaves; this one holds its full canopy indefinitely. Wipe the leaves with a soft damp cloth when they dull, and they come straight back.
