Ficus, bamboo and topiary
The fiddle leaf fig, or ficus lyrata, leads our artificial ficus trees in Lebanon, with large leaves from 100 to 170 cm. Ficus benjamina has small leaves and comes from 120 to 190 cm, with a twisted trunk, a double ball or a fibre trunk. Ficus elastica brings three trunks at 140 and 150 cm, and ficus danielle runs from 120 to 170 cm.
Bamboo, from 110 to 240 cm, makes a soft screen between desks or along a wall. Schefflera fills a corner with umbrella-shaped leaves, and spiral and cone topiaries stand in pairs at a door. Pampas and pompom grass add texture at 90 to 125 cm, and the custom pampas tree reaches 170x140 cm. Japanese maple, a custom Canadian maple in autumn colours, ferns, banyan and a fig tree complete the set.
These are the easiest trees to live with: no water, no light, a dusting every few weeks. Larger or fuller sizes can be built to order in 15–25 working days through a customization request. For more colour, see the blossom and fruit trees.
Questions people ask us
Ficus benjamina or ficus lyrata?
Ficus lyrata, the fiddle leaf fig, has large leaves and a bold, graphic outline that suits a modern room. Ficus benjamina has many small leaves and a softer, denser look, and comes with a twisted trunk, a double ball or a fibre trunk. Choose lyrata for impact, benjamina for a lighter, classic feel.
Can bamboo work as a room divider?
Yes. Set two or three bamboo trees side by side in a long trough, such as the rectangular Linea fiberglass planters, and they form a green screen between desks, tables or a seating area. With heights from 110 to 240 cm, you can match the screen to what you need to hide.
Do topiaries need trimming?
No. The spiral and cone shapes are fixed, so they stay as delivered with no clipping. A pair at an entrance is a classic use: cone topiaries come at 90, 120 and 150 cm, spiral ones from 120 to 160 cm. For a door that faces the street, ask for anti-UV foliage.
Which ficus suits a small flat?
Choose by width as much as height. A fiddle leaf fig of 100 to 120 cm or the 120 cm variegated ficus sits beside a sofa, a desk or a bed without crowding it. Keep the taller ficus benjamina and the three-trunk ficus elastica for a corner with more space around them.
