Rotomoulded PVC makes these outdoor planters in Lebanon light to carry and unbreakable, so a knock from a chair, a door or a delivery trolley leaves them whole. That makes them the sensible choice for balconies, roof terraces and restaurant frontages, where a ceramic pot would be a risk.
Iris (D27–60 cm), Naga (D32–62), Nepheli (D40–60), Leto (D41) and Gea (D48) are round. Argus comes at 23, 30 and 37 cm, Nestor from 40 to 60 cm and Orion at 39×40 cm. The Bowl reaches 100 cm across for a low, wide planting, while the Square and Round PVC planters rise to 100 cm tall for a tree. The colours are black, white and grey.
On a sunny terrace, pair a tall planter with a palm tree or an olive tree with anti-UV foliage; a planter chosen with a tree is 5% off, and its top layer of pebbles, lava rock or bark is free. The range also includes a plain plastic nursery pot, H24 D26 cm, for $5.
Questions people ask us
Can PVC planters stay in full sun all year?
Yes, they are meant for balconies, roof terraces and restaurant frontages. In strong afternoon sun, white and grey take on less heat than black. If a tree goes into the planter, ask for anti-UV foliage, and tell us about the sun, the wind and any sea air at the spot.
Will a light planter blow over in the wind?
An empty PVC planter is light, so on a windy roof or balcony give it weight: gravel or stones at the bottom, then a heavy top layer. For a tall tree, choose a broad base, such as the Square or Round PVC planters up to 100 cm tall, or the wide Bowl for low plants.
Are they really unbreakable?
Yes. They are rotomoulded in one piece, so they do not crack or chip the way ceramic can when a chair, a door or a cleaning trolley hits them. That is why they suit restaurant frontages, hotel terraces and balconies where pots are moved around often.
Which size fits a narrow balcony?
Measure the depth of the balcony and keep a clear path to walk. Smaller sizes such as Argus at 23 to 37 cm, Iris from D27 or Leto at D41 line a rail without taking the floor. For one statement tree, a 60 cm Nestor or a tall Round PVC gives it room.
