Bougainvillea 160 cm

A Bougainvillea at 160 cm, carrying the papery magenta bracts that define Mediterranean summer. Along with the olive, it is the plant most associated with a Lebanese terrace, and the artificial version keeps it in flower all year instead of for a few months.

It works in a planter beside an entrance, trained along a terrace wall, or in a restaurant courtyard that needs colour rather than more green. Specified with anti-UV foliage it stands outdoors in full sun. There is no pruning, no thorns and no petal fall to sweep.
