An Areca Palm at 200 cm in dark green. The darker foliage gives the palm more weight and a more formal character than the bright green varieties, which read lighter and more tropical.

Dark green works better against pale walls, white stone and light timber, where a bright green palm can look artificial simply because it is too vivid. At two metres it fills a corner from the floor up. No watering, no browning tips, no seasonal decline.
