A Sago Palm at 70 cm. The compact cycad, with tightly packed rigid fronds around a short scaled trunk, sitting low and wide rather than reaching up.

Use it on a plinth, a low planter, a terrace step or at the front of a mixed group where the hard leaf contrasts with softer foliage behind. It is a plant that reads as expensive because the living version grows so slowly. Nothing to water, and the fronds keep their gloss with an occasional wipe.
