A Fan Palm, with the broad pleated circular fronds that open like a fan from a short stem. The leaf shape is instantly recognisable and covers a lot of area, which makes it efficient planting for a wide shallow space.
It works against a wall, in a planter along a terrace, or in a group where the flat fans overlap. Live fan palms split and brown at the fold lines indoors; this one keeps the fans whole. Anti-UV foliage can be specified for outdoor positions.
