Banana Plant

A Banana Plant, with wide paddle leaves and heavy central ribs rising from a fibrous stem. It is one of the most efficient plants for covering visual area, since nearly all its mass sits in a few very large leaves.

It suits tropical and resort interiors, restaurants, pool surrounds and any space that wants to feel warmer than it is. Real banana leaves split and brown within weeks indoors. These do not. Dust the leaves with a soft cloth; the flat surfaces make it a two-minute job.
