A living vertical garden is a piece of building services, not decoration. It needs irrigation plumbed in, a drainage path, a feeding regime, grow lights wherever daylight falls short, and someone to maintain it on a schedule. Miss any of those for a few weeks and the wall shows it — and a failing living wall looks considerably worse than no wall at all.

An artificial vertical garden needs a wall and a fixing. No water supply, no drainage, no lighting, no feeding, no maintenance contract. In a Lebanese building, where neither power nor water can be taken for granted, that is the difference between a wall that still looks good in three years and one that quietly died in its first summer.

The trade-off is honest: a living wall is alive, and some clients want that. For everywhere else — corridors, light wells, feature walls, reception backdrops, rooftop screens — artificial gives the same visual result with none of the dependency.

How it is made and fitted

Panels are built up in our Jdeideh workshop from mixed foliage rather than a single repeated leaf, which is what stops a wall reading as fake from across a room. We vary tone, leaf size and density across the panel, and mix in trailing and flowering elements where the design calls for it.

Panels are then cut to your wall’s exact dimensions, including around sockets, switches, signage and awkward corners. Installation is dry and quick — fixings into the wall, panels mounted, edges trimmed on site. No wet trade, no drying time, and the room is usable the same day.

A 3D logo or a neon piece set into the greenery is a common request for reception walls, and we build the whole thing as one unit.
